SECOND deputy premier and Minister for Public Service, Henry Kajura, on Saturday held a party to celebrate his reappointment to Cabinet, where his adversaries apologised and called for reconciliation.

Hoima LC5 chairman George Tinkamanyire, who recently criticised President Yoweri museveni for returning Kajura, said, “let us put the past behind us.”

Bugahya MP William Rwembera, who defeated Kajura in the NRM primaries to take the minister’s parliamentary seat, apologised to Bunyoro, saying, “We have all wronged.”

“My appeal to the people of Hoima and you minister is that unity is strength. We should work for that. Those weaknesses should not continue,” tinkamanyire stated.

“In our culture, when something happens two times, you say, ‘Baitu ebyo orabisibira?’ (will you eat rumours for lunch; can’t you go and work?). Today I tell you all, fighting each other is over. God bless you,” Tinkamanyire said before shaking Kajura’s hand.

Rwebembera urged Hoima leaders to seize the olive branch and reconcile “because the fish rots from the head.” He said Hoima had had its fair share of bickering and needed a new chapter.
