SIR — I refer to your article “Makerere closes Lumumba hall†published on June 7. Your reporter states that the hall’s existence dates back to 1922. This does not make sense.

The very fact that the hall is named after Patrice Lumumba, suggests that it cannot date back to 1922 when Makerere university was started.
