After a successful debut album, Omutanda Afunye Omubeezi (the Kabaka has got a wife) on the eve of the royal wedding in 1999, Henry Katamba is breaking a six-year silence with a single, Casanova, ahead of his second album, Sweet Y’omutima.

The title of the song is a give-away of what the song is about. In a smooth voice, Katamba delivers his reprimand to that kind of man who cannot resist women. In clear Luganda, a sign that he is still in touch with his roots despite his half-a-decade relocation to London, Katamba asks ‘players’ not to go after other people’s women and so spare them heartbreaks. The Casanova he sings about seems to have one aim of conquering as many women as he can and, hopefully, break a record.

“Although the song was not inspired by anyone in particular, I am singing about something that I see all the time and it bothers me,” he says.

He further warns that men who even take the chasing to young girls should be aware that they also risk getting punished for it.

With his smooth voice and danceable beats, the song is one you will enjoy listening to; that you heed his message is up to you. He seems to know what might appeal to listeners; love songs and bitter lyrics about cheating partners is all we hear, a man telling fellow male human species off is a breath of fresh air.

The six-track album will be out at the end of the year. At the moment, his fans can break the six-year fast with Casanova.

The single also has a video that was shot in London. He will be in Kampala to launch his album.
