Uganda Wildlife Authority-(UWA) is to relocate a pack of leopards from Ngenge sub-county to Pian Upe Game Reserve, sector warden Johnson Masereka said recently. He said UWA would conduct a census to establish the number of leopards. He was responding to complaints that the leopards had eaten several goats and were a threat to residents.

MUKONO: Cleric calls
The Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Eria Paul Luzinda, has directed priests to plant trees all over Church land to save it from encroachers. Luzinda said church land had been occupied illegally because it had nothing to show that it was owned by anyone. Luzinda was on Thursday opening the Diocesan council.

WAKISO: Court frees
Entebbe court on Wednesday released a Presidential Brigade Guard soldier, Charles Asiimwe, on bail of sh100,000 after he was charged with the theft of sh2m from a businessman. Asiimwe and two other people still at large are accused of stealing the money from Godfrey Muhiirwa of MG Enterprises.

KAMPALA: Fundraiser set
Uganda Red Cross Society and other partners have organised a fundraising dinner to help displaced people living in camps in northern Uganda and for Mama Bag Kits. President Yoweri Museveni is to officiate at the dinner at Hotel Africana next Saturday, Red Cross chief Tom Buruku told journalists on Tuesday.
