GULU - Private security firms working in northern Uganda have been urged to store their guns and ammunition properly so that they are not stolen and used by thugs to terrorise the community. Regional CID officer Vincent Ouma was addressing journalists on Monday after a guard with Alert security group reported the loss of his gun to unknown thugs on Sunday night.

Police warns on uniforms

GULU - The Police have warned civilians against selling, buying or wearing attire similar to the army uniform. Many caps, trousers, T-shirts and bandanas are currently on the market. They are mainly worn by secondary school boys and bodaboda cyclists. Community liaison officer Johnson Kilama on Monday said people who dress like soldiers can easily terrorise civilians.
