Burnt Opio for treatment in US

IVANCE Opio, who sustained deep burns at the age of three years, is finally set to have multiple surgeries at Shriners Burns Hospital in Boston USA. Opio’s upper limbs were attached to his chest, making it impossible to do anything for himself.

He got admitted after his guardian to be Jeannette Quinn wrote several applications to the hospital. He will get his first surgery on December 14 and additional ones until he is 21 years old.

Zdenek Osecky, a surgeon at Gulu Independent Hospital, says Opiyo had undergone scar-releasing surgery in Gulu but with partial success.

Opiyo got burnt when his mother accidentally pushed him in a pot of hot water when fleeing from Lord’s Resistance Army rebels in Paicho, Aswa County.
