Otafiire and Prince Barigye never went to the same class, school or university!

However, it is my duty to set the record right. Prince Barigye joined King’s College Budo in 1946 for his primary and junior secondary education. He left in 1952 and proceeded to England for O- and A-levels, went to Cambridge for his university education, returned to Uganda in 1962 and joined the foreign service.
Hon. Kahinda Otafiire, on the other hand went to Kitabi Seminary. By the time he joined Makerere University in the mid-70s, Barigye was already in exile (from Amin), having notched the permanent secretary and ambassadors positions in the foreign service.
The question of Otafiire beating Barigye in class and therefore not accepting to be ruled by him does not arise, as they have never been in the same class, school or university.
