HUNDREDS of secondary school teachers yesterday turned up at Didi’s World in kansanga to sit the aptitude test for headteachers and deputy headteachers of O’level schools.

The two-hour test was in mathematics, english and general knowledge.

An official from the Teaching Service commission said over 5,000 teachers competed for 56 deputy headteachers’ posts and 800 for 56 posts for headteachers.

The commission was overwhelmed by the big number of candidates because they called all teachers without shortlisting. Officials had to change registration procedures at least thrice.
