Nasasira’s driver caused M7 jam

If the First Lady, Mrs Janet Museveni, has been wondering why she was stuck in a traffic jam last Friday evening near Sheraton Kampala Hotel, she ought to frown at the Minister of Works, Housing and Communications, John Nasasira. That day, his driver showed little regard for proper road etiquette. His 4x4 caused a huge jam when it overtook a long line of traffic instead of waiting patiently in line like the rest of the motorists. The traffic jam, Nasasira’s 4x4 caused, had a knock-on effect in that Janet Museveni’s convoy was also stranded in the jam minutes later. Traffic police and the Presidential Guard Brigade had their work cut out for them as they tried to clear the road.
“There was nowhere to go,” said one motorist. “The traffic was bumper-to-bumper and the traffic guys were asking us to move. But move where I kept on asking the cop, who was slapping my car bonnet,” he added. Mrs Museveni then had to endure a 15 minute-wait before the road was cleared.
