it was unbelievable!

SIR — I could not believe my eyes, when I read the article about automatic cars in the motormart section of the New Vision of June 21. It is unbelievable what George Kaahwa understands of an automatic gearbox and cars in general.

SIR — I could not believe my eyes, when I read the article about automatic cars in the motormart section of the New Vision of June 21. It is unbelievable what George Kaahwa understands of an automatic gearbox and cars in general.

The “catalytic converter” has nothing to do with the automatic gearbox, if it is installed at all.

The catalytic converter is located in the exhaust system and helps to reduce or eliminate exhaust emission of the engine.

What he calls the catalytic converter is actually the “torque converter”. Both have nothing to do with each other.

But overheating cannot reduce its life span much since it is made entirely out of metal. But the gear oil is affected very much when overheated.

This is why automatic gear vehicles are fitted with a gear oil cooler. What has the “brake tension” to do with a torque converter? Nothing! Lastly, if Kaahwa is thinking that a brake booster of a car depends on pressure, then he is wrong again.

The brake booster of the average car depends on vacuum created in intake manifold of the engine.

People should use the correct word for the items they are talking of. An article like this should not have left the house.
