MILLIONS of dollars are up for grabs by local farmers growing silk, the agriculture minister, Janat Mukwaya, has said, writes Joel Ogwang.

She said, “There is a readily available market in Korea. Farmers need to concentrate on growing silk.”

Mukwaya, who was meeting Korean delegates, led by the former minister of agriculture, Jin Young, in Kampala, said Ugandan soils and weather are conducive for silk growing.

Young hailed the good Korea-Uganda relations, urging the Government to invest in research to develop agriculture.
