KCC FC will ignore recent history and undertake the seemingly impossible task of defeating regional champions SC Villa at Nakivubo today.

KCC, who have not beaten the league defending champions in their previous 12 league meetings, are promising a battle worthy the final itself in the City Tyres Super League first semi-final.

Kenyan coach Hussein Kheri said his team was determined not to ‘waste the moment’.

“I have done all the necessary homework and they know what to do,” he said.

Kheri will demand for a performance on par with the one that saw them overcome Simba 5-2 on aggregate at the quarterfinal stages.

Villa, who have to play without their skipper and key defender Andy Mwesigwa, face the daunting task of toppling KCC led by Geoffrey Sserunkuuma and Hamis Kitagenda.

Sam Timbe’s Villa, chasing a record 17th league title, beat Victor FC 2-0 on aggregate in the quarters.
