2nd leg Kakungulu 1/4 final
Masaka v SC Villa
MASAKA’s Recreation Ground will certainly buzz with tension when the home side attempts to overturn a 1-0 first leg Kakungulu Cup deficit against regional champions SC Villa today.
The form guide favours Villa, who boast of three inspiring figures in Steven Nsereko, Simeon Masaba and Emmanuel Balyejjusa, back from duty with the Cranes.
But the hosts, who had a fair share of possession at Namboole Stadium more than a week ago, are capable of an upset in Uganda’s oldest Cup competition.
That responsibility will largely fall on the likes of Ayub Balyejjusa and Malidadi Bukenya.
Villa captain Andrew Mwesigwa was praying for an early away goal to thrust the Jogoos to the next stage.
“We just have to keep our lines clean and get that goal that will place them in a situation where they will have to score thrice,†he said.
