ABED Musa Kizito, Uganda’s top rally navigator, is dead. Born in 1957, Kizito who was Charlie Lubega’s co-driver died of liver complications at Mulago hospital on Thursday night in the presence of friends and family members.

Kizito guided national champion Lubega to the 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004 national rally championships.

Kizito’s motor rally career dates back in the early 1990s when he navigated his brother Edirisa Nsubuga in a Nissan 240 RS and later a Golf GTI.

In 1997 he was co-driver for his other brother Siraji Mukuye in a Toyota Trueno before eventually partnering Lubega in 2000.

Since Lubega took a two-year break last year, Kizito has been one of the technical men in Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU).
