Let us learn to forgive, reconcile

SIR — I am disappointed when some people jubiliate when others have died. In this world nobody is perfect. People in Luweero are celebrating the death of former president of this country, Apollo Milton Obote. Such an act shows disunity among Ugandans.

Most disappointing is that it is the leaders at the forefront of such an act. I urge all Ugandans to develop a spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation because without that the heart can never be free.

Even if your enemy has died, do not celebrate openly because the same thing or worse can happen to you. After all we will all have to die one day. Please let us always respect the act of the Almighty.
