THE ministry of health has announced new measures to curb the forgery of yellow fever vaccination certificates by travellers outside the country.

The director general of health services, Dr. Sam Zaramba, on Wednesday said this followed reports that travellers to countries that require yellow fever vaccinations were not receiving the vaccine but were instead using forged certificates.

“The public is informed that the ministry has put measures to curb this malpractice. All authentic signatures will be provided to the missions that require yellow fever vaccination,” Zaramba said in a statement.

He said vaccination certificates with signatures that do not tally with those at the missions that require the cards would be rejected.

He advised all travellers to ensure that they get vaccinated and their yellow fever cards signed by appropriate health officials.
