SAVE Our Soccer (SOS) top guns Dennis Mbidde, Aldrine Nsubuga and Fred Muwema have been given tasks as the Lawrence Mulindwa FUFA executive named the body’s standing committees yesterday.
Mbidde and Nsubuga were named on the marketing and sponsorship committee, which is headed by FUFA president Mulindwa himself, while Muwema was named as head of the legal committee.
“We looked at the availability and interest in the development of the game. We want serious people who are able to foster change,†said Mulindwa as he read out the names at his first official press conference at FUFA House in Mengo.
Nsubuga was also appointed as the public relations officer for the federation, with a duty of helping draw projects that will bring back the interest of Ugandans in local football.
“We want to professionalise everything. This is the only way forward in the modern world,†Mulindwa added.
Mulindwa also said that despite naming the competitions committee, there will be a director responsible for competitions, while the national coach will be an ex-officio of the technical committee.
