the Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) recently donated over 2,000 bags of clothes, soap and blankets to children at Laguti internally displaced persons’ (IDP) camp in Pader district.
The bags worth sh58m were distributed to 21,000 children aged between 1- 4 years.
Each child got a bag containing one bar of soap, two pieces of clothes and a blanket.
Handing over the items recently, the URCS assistant programme officer in charge of relief in northern region, Hillary Kupajo, said the children needed a lot of attention given their vulnerability.
He said the URCS main principle is to protect life and health through the promotion of human life.
Kupajo said the bags were mobilised through a fundraising launched last year with several organisations giving support.
