UGANDA Securities Exchange (USE) all share index shot up by 2.26% to 365.39 points this Thursday compared to 357.39 last Thursday due to many deals.

UGANDA Securities Exchange (USE) all share index shot up by 2.26% to 365.39 points this Thursday compared to 357.39 last Thursday due to many deals, reports Peter Kaujju.

Unlike Tuesday and last Thursday, the bourse recorded a turnover of sh3.6m after trading 402 shares on the Uganda Clays counter at sh8,000 each, while Bank of Baroda sold 500 shares at sh800 each.

“There is likely to be more activity on the bourse after companies release their half-year results and also the fact that people are positioning themselves for the upcoming new products namely, New Vision and dfcu,” Davis Gathara of MBEA Brokerage Services said.

Market capitalisation grew to sh1,461.7b compared to sh1,441.7b last Thursday.
The bond counters recorded no activity.
