RUBAGA south MP John Ken Lukyamuzi has attacked his colleagues who approved the use of DDT after their recent study tour to South Africa.

Addressing a press conference on Friday at Parliament, Lukyamuzi (right) said since the trip was funded by the health ministry and not Parliament, the mission had a bad motive.

“I am not surprised that the MPs who went on the DDT fact finding mission in South Africa could make such a statement on malaria. What else could they have said? If the mission had no bad motives, how could they have travelled without me?” he asked.

He added, “I am one of the MPs strongly opposed to DDT. They travelled silently for reasons best known to them. It is therefore not surprising that when I recently moved a motion on DDT, I was not allowed to justify it as it had been duly seconded on the floor.”
