A solution to the crisis in division one of the chess league could be found today. The way forward will be determined in a Uganda Chess Federation (UCF) executive meeting. The meeting aborted last week after tournament organiser Julius Anuari failed to turn up. UCF’s Kaamu said Anuari skipped the meet because of academic pressure.

Mutabazi set
FORMER junior champion Dan Mutabazi could finally compete at the big stage. The 19-year-old has been named on a 24-man squad for trials ahead of the All Africa Championship in the Mauritius event, November 12-14. Fotogenix limited will sponsor the team.

Aon joins
AON Insurance company and Ice Mark Africa have pledged to become part of the first-ever Thunderbirds organised East Africa women’s 7’s rugby championships slated for October 23-24 at the Kyadondo grounds. Ice Mark Africa, already a proud sponsor of Thunderbirds, has pumped sh3m into the East Africa championships.
