Residents of Makindye Ssabagabo zone had a free drama recently when a man identified as Sula dressed himself in gomesi to avoid being arrested for not paying musolo (graduated tax).

KCC law enforcement officials had sealed off all the main roads of Makindye to net tax defaulters. Sula had an appointment in town which was to earn him money. He put on his wife’s gomesi and wrapped his head with a piece of cloth, applied lipstick, eye pencil and disguised his appearance completely. With this beauty, Sula picked the wife’s handbag, and set off.

When he reached the musolo road block, his voice betrayed him when she was asked to produce his tax ticket. He answered in a deep voice that he was a house wife. This drew suspicion among the law enforcement officers and onlookers. To cover up his shame, Sula folded his gomesi and took off.
