Sixty prisoners at Masindi prison have graduated with certificates of proficiency in vocational skills.
The prisoners, including five women, have since last year been attending functional adult literacy (FAL) classes.

The senior community development officer, Chris Muhereza, handed the certificates over to the prisoners at the prison premises on Wednesday.

The FAL instructors were also serving sentences at the prison. They included a graduate teacher and four secondary school leavers.
