‘Kitoobero profitable’

By Vision ReporterThe Board of Trustees of Kabaka Foundation (KF) has assured Baganda and Ugandans that Ekitoobero festivals benefit the Buganda kingdom.Hope Mukasa, a member of the board and a fundraiser of KF said ekitoobero festivities are the single biggest local contributors to the KF of which Kabaka Ronald Mutebi is the patron.He said since its inception in 1997, more than sh100m had been credited on the KF account.Mukasa said over sh30m had been credited for three consecutive years while in 2001, sh10m was contributed by the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre.“It is wrong to characterise the organisers of the Ekitoobero as swindlers when the purpose for which the gala was conceived has been achieved,” Mukasa said.
