Patient Asks For Surgery Assistance

By Jovita AjunaMULAGO Hospital Complex has launched an appeal to raise funds for an accident victim who is supposed to undergo an operation in the United States.Mastula Namata, a 24-year-old and Makerere graduate got paralysed following a road accident on October 14 2001. She broke her neck and has since been in Intensive Care Unit of Mulago hospital on a life support machine.According to a letter signed by Dr Catherine Omaswa, the in-charge of the Intensive Care Unit, the operation requires about $108,000.An account entitled Namata Mastula Intensive Care Unit Fund number 31-00801-1 has been opened at UCB Mulago Branch.Ends
