The story so far:
Cousin Paulo, who the family has never seen, arrives from London for the wedding the Mulondos have planned for him. Paulo discovers his best man Muko is much younger than him and so is his bride

"Oh no," Cousin Paulo groaned. "How young?".
"Don't be like that. "Mrs. Mulondo smiled "You liked the photograph we sent of the bride and her mother. The bride was the one in a green dress."
"The picture was of the bride and her sister, and I liked the one in purple!" Cousin Paulo shouted. The Mulondo parents looked at each other and the children looked away, only Samsoni found everything funny. Cousin Paul stood up suddenly and rushed into the room with his luggage.
"Look!" he said coming back. "Look at what I have brought you all!
He handed a walking stick to Mulondo, a head scarf to Mrs. Mulondo, a plastic picture frame to Muko and adult sized underwear to Nalu and Samsoni.
"These are nice!" Mrs. Mulondo smiled weakly.
"What do I do with a picture frame? Couldn't you at least have brought me a watch! " Muko cried.
"Don't be so rude," his father snapped.
"The boy is right. The gifts are all wrong. Like everything else about this wedding!" Paulo covered his face with his hands.
"The wedding will be fine." Mrs. Mulondo said gently.
"With Muko as best man!"
"We shall change that. I will be the best man." Mulondo said. Muko sat up straight, eyes big as frog’s, his mouth opening and closing like a fish..
"And the bride!"
"Well, there's Hajati's sister Sara. She is pleasant and closer to your age. We should go over there and see what she thinks."
And that is how the Kauka residents happened to see a delegation arrive at Hajati's shop on the evening Paulo came from London. Sara was serving at the counter when Mrs. Mulondo whispered to her, the reason for their visit.
Sara squealed in delight, pulled off her blue apron and hurried to find her sister.
Hajati came in grinning from ear to ear .
"So little time and so much to do…" she whispered repeatedly.
One hour later, all the arrangements had been made for the next day, and Cousin Paulo was feeling so much better. None of the Mulondo group noticed the man who watched them leave. He was the brother of the girl in the picture the Mulondos had sent to London. His family was waiting to receive Paulo the next day.
