By Douglas MazuneSIMBA Telecom has injected sh35m in the third edition of the Simba Telecom Rally due May 11-12.Simba Telecom managing director Patrick Bitature (picture, left) handed over the cheque to United Motor Sport Club (UMOSPOC) president David Bitalo (picture, right) at the launch of the rally yesterday.Bitature hailed UMOSPOC for exhibiting high standards in the organisation of the previous editions of the rally.“We have put in our money because we trust that UMOSPOC will organise a good rally,” Bitature said. Bitature surprised Caltex Rally Team leader and former national champion Moses Lumala, the only driver who attended the launch, with a sh1m offer.“I thank Lumala for sparing his time to come here, Lumala is a small god in rallying” Bitature said.He urged Shell to reconsider its decision of pulling out of rallying. The event that is the fifth round of the National Rally Championship will start with a super special stage at Garuga double track circuit on May 11.The next day, cars will be flagged off at Centenary Park.ends
