Women fight, baby dies
KAMPALA — A fight between a mother of a three-month-old baby and her sister-in-law over the weekend, ended with the tragic with the death of the baby. Williams Lutakome, son of Aisha Nakagiri, died shortly after 9:00am when he was hit by a huge stick that Aisha Nansuna, had directed at his mother. The DPC Kawempe, Erasmus Elodu, yesterday said the incident took place at Buwembo-Bwanika zone.

Apac gets HIV funds
APAC — The district has received sh240m to fight HIV/AIDS. The LC5 chairperson, Ben Olwa, said this at the opening of a three-day workshop organised by UNICEF recently. The aim of the workshop was work out ways to fight HIV/AIDS and was funded by AIMS, an NGO operating in the district. Olwa said the funds were in time to train health workers, help HIV/AIDS victims and to advocate for more funds from the government.

No eviction for Cheeye
KAMPALA — Teddy Seezi Cheeye, the editor-in-chief of Uganda Confidential, has survived eviction from Katatumba Suites, which houses the weekly paper offices, for non-payment of rent. Boney M. Katatumba, the proprietor of the house, dragged Cheeye to the commercial court after he failed to pay two-years rent amounting to US$11,501. However, Cheeye and Katatumba went into consent judgement to settle the matter out of court.
