KATAKWI - Karimojong warriors have so far surrendered 75 guns to the UPDF in the disarmament exercise launched on January 20. The UPDF 3rd Division commander, Col. Geoffrey Taban, said most of the arms were handed over voluntarily. He, however, said in some cases, the warriors hid guns in luggage tied to their donkeys' bellies to dupe the soldiers. Taban, who is overseeing the programme, told The New Vision on Sunday that the exercise had been a success. He said the warriors who surrendered their guns would be issued with certificates and appealed to them for co-operation. Ends
