Re-advertised 1. The Government of the Republic of Uganda intends to carry out construction of Water Treatment Works for Kapchorwa Town Water Supply System. 2. The Ministry of Water, Lands and Environment invites sealed bids for the construction of the water system, comprising of the following principal components: - 2 No. Circular Clarifiers, each 6.0m in diameter - 2 No. Rectangular Slow Sand Filters, 20.0m wide x 10.0m long - Site works 3. Bidding documents can be purchased and further information obtained from: The Director Directorate of Water Development Plot 22/28 Port Bell Road, Luzira P.O. Box 20026, KAMPALA, UGANDA Tel. 256-41-223308, 223310 Fax: 256-41-223311 on payment of a non-refundable fee of Ug.Shs. 100,000. (One Hundred Thousand Uganda Shillings only), for each set of the documents starting on 13th August, 2001. 4. There will be a pre-tender site meeting in Kapchorwa at the proposed works site starting from Kapchorwa Town Council office at 10:00 a.m. on 22nd August, 2001. A pre-tender site visit certificate will be issued at the end of the visit. However, Bidders who wish to visit the site on alternative days will be free to do so and a site visit certificate will still be issued. All bids must be accompanied by the site visit certificate, otherwise they will be rejected. 5. Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 days after bid opening and must be accompanied by a bid security of Ug. Shs. 5,000,000 (Five Million Uganda Shillings only) in form of a Bank guarantee only and shall be delivered to: The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Water, Lands and Environment Parliament Avenue Century House, 2nd Floor, Room 3 P. O. Box 7122 KAMPALA,UGANDA Before 10:00 a.m on 4th September, 2001. The bids will be opened thereafter in the presence of the bidders who wish to attend. Late bids will automatically be rejected. 6.
