THE Lamwo county Member of Parliament in Kitgum district, engineer Hillary Onek, has ruled out witchcraft in the accident he was involved in recently at Rachoko in Pader district. Polly Owiny reports that Onek told the manager of the Gulu-based Radio Freedom, Nahman Ojwee, last week from his Mulago Hospital ward to assure the electorate that he was recovering and that witchcraft was not the cause of the accident. He thanked everybody who worked tirelessly to rush him to hospital after the accident singling out Capt. Oyoo of the UPDF, the state minister for sports, Henry Oryem Okello and Lt. Col. Charles Otema. Onek also regretted the death of his cousin Luke Lakony who died in the accident. he called upon the parents and relatives of the deceased not to lose hope because God had plans for everything. He said Lakony was supposed to take up a job with the Diary Development Authority as deputy quality controller. “I am grateful to Mulago Hospital because they have assigned me six medical personnel headed by Prof. Francis Omaswa, the medical services director and the hospital director, Dr. Lawrence Kaggwa who have done a good job,” he said.
