By Douglas Mazune KENYAN star Rose Naliaka, seeking a third Uganda Ladies open title, is a clear favourite at the three-day event starting at the Kitante course today. Naliaka, winner of the prestigious event in 1993/94, had an impressive practice round on Wednesday ahead of the 54-hole strokeplay event tournament. The seasoned golfer looks poised to give her rivals a run for their money in the Caltex Uganda sponsored event. But Naliaka predicted a tough event that has 27 competitors, six of whom are Kenyans. “Uganda is like coming home, there is going to be a good fight here. The other players are also good, it’s going to be anyone’s game,” Naliaka said before a final practice round yesterday. The towering Kenyan was relieved on realising that the pin position on the 18th hole had been changed. Tee off time is 11:45 am today. ends
