Joint Clinical Research Centre -- Vacancies

The Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC), a medical research institution, is seeking applications from qualified Ugandans to fill the following posts: Position: DEPUTY DIRECTOR (RESEARCH AND CLINICAL) Reports to: DIRECTOR Qualifications: - Medical doctor with at least a Masters degree in a clinical speciality. - Must be an experienced research scientist with not less than eight years research and administrative experience, supported by publications in International Journals. - Demonstrated ability to initiate and write scientific research projects is essential. Duties: - Deputizes for the Director and provides continuous support for effective running of the research and clinical aspects of the centre. - Assists the Director in planning, coordination and implementation of research projects. - Does and supervises clinical and research work at the centre. - Advises the Director on matters related to research and staff development. - Any other duties that may be delegated by the Director. Position: MEDICAL OFFICER/RESEARCH OFFICER (TWO POSITIONS) Reports to: RESEARCH CO-ORDINATOR Qualifications: - Medical doctor with post graduate training in Medicine, Epidemiology or Public Health. - Experience of 2-3 years after post graduate training in research or field trials. - Able to do clinical work. - Computer knowledge and ability to analyse scientific data. - Working in area of HIV/AIDS will be an added advantage. Duties: - Participate in writing research proposals. - Undertake research program activities at the centre. - Participate in implementation of research programs. - Do routine clinical work. - Any other duties that may be assigned. Terms: Employment with JCRC is on a contract basis, renewable by mutual agreement. - Remuneration is attractive and competitive.
