Date Set For Igara East By-Election

THE Electoral Commission yesterday appointed November 17 as the polling date for the Igara East Constituency by-election.

By Richard Mutumba THE Electoral Commission yesterday appointed November 17 as the polling date for the Igara East Constituency by-election. The by-election follows a High Court nullification of state minister for industries minister Dr. Richard Nduhuura election after he was found to have voted twice. According to commissioner Robert Kitariko, polling shall start at 7.00am and end at 5.00pm. Kitariko said temporary voters’ cards shall be issued to registered voters in the constituency from November 8 - 13. “Candidates and or their agents are encouraged to be present at each polling station during this exercise. No person shall be allowed to vote without a valid voters’ card,” Kitariko said. Nduhuura faces his lone rival Spencer Turwomwe in the by-election. Ends
