MP Advises Youth On Elections

THE National Female Youth MP, Juliet Kabonesa Sekitoleko, has urged the youth to contest in the coming Local Council elections, reports James Bakunzi.

I call upon all the youth to come out and contest in local council positions because many young people have shown their capability in serving the people,” she said. Kabonesa was recently addressing youth at a one-day workshop on project management at Legency Hotel, Bakuli in Rubaga Division. She said the Government had given the national youth council sh400m this financial year to assist the youth in forming projects. She however said the money was not enough to cater for the needs of the youth. “I am appealing to the Government to consider increasing the funds for the youth because instead of increasing it this financial year, it instead reduced it,” she said. Last financial year, the National Youth Council was given sh700m to cater for their projects. Ends
