By Catherine Ntabadde THE state minister for primary education, Geradine Bitamazire, has said the country spends 30% of its revenue on the education sector to make it affordable and accessible to all. “Government is doing everything possible to ensure that Ugandans have access to education. Education is no longer a myth but a reality,” she said. “Though its costs are still high, the Government is working hard to ensure that it becomes affordable,” she added. Bitamazire was recently speaking during a public debate on economic, social and cultural rights at Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi. She said education could be made affordable if the private sector set up more schools.
