West Africa lines stars for tournament

The team manager for the West Africa cricket conference (WACC) Edinan Nutsugah communicated to The New vision that the combined team is set. The team includes K. Adegbola, D. Akayan, O. Amusa, K. Anefi, F. Bakiweyem, T. Bakiweyem, F. Dake, E. Gowon, R. Ntiamoah, S. Odeku, E. Ofem, T. Olayinka, O. Osuaso and team coach Olamuyiwa Osundolire. Uganda hired Kenyan Steve Tikolo to handle the under 19 squad together with local coach William Kamanyi. National player Kenneth Kamyuka was named captain with Lawrence Sematimba as his vice. The teams arrive January 3 and will reside in Tourist Hotel. The opening ceremony will be held the following day in Rock Gardens restaurant. Meanwhile Sematimba hit a stunning century yesterday in a trial match at Kyambogo oval against UCA select side to enable the under 19 squad amass 220 for three in 40 overs. Opening for the side, the prodigy hit 103 runs not out with 14 fours backed by batting partner captain Kamyuka (37 n.o). The senior side collapsed at 101 all out in only 22.2 overs. Ends.
