THE Government has been asked to increase its financial support to the health sector in order to meet Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

THE Government has been asked to increase its financial support to the health sector in order to meet Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

In the Abuja declaration, Uganda agreed to give 15% of the national budget to health but the health budget is still at 9%.

White ribbon alliance for safe motherhood coordinator Robina Biteyi said much as the maternal mortality rate had gone down, the Government should make health centres more attractive, train more midwives and sensitise the youth on the dangers of early marriages to achieve the set goal.
