THE Bantu night at the exclusive Emin Pasha Hotel last Saturday was the place to be for every fun-loving Ugandan who loves to party and hobnob with Kampala’s A-List partying class as they partied like it was their last night on earth.

Young city tycoons, top socialites, politicians, corporates and the cream of campus girls spent the greater part of Saturday night disturbing the peace of the usually quiet hotel neighbourhood. They danced and drunk the night away to celebrate the second Bantu Night in Kampala this year.

There was a mixture of accents from part of the Bantu team and friends from the UK plus their Ugandan counterparts including a big part of the Asian community that grew up in the UK and currently live and work in Uganda.

The dress code of the patrons was katogo especially for the ladies. You would see everything ranging from party and dinner dresses to micro-minis and leggings. The men almost uniformly kept it smart casual as they drowned in cocktails and all sorts of booze while networking and catching up with old friends all night.

The performances from the Bantu Drummers with a fusion of local drums, western R&B and hip-hop beats sent wild cheers through the crowd.

Lillian Mbabazi, a local artiste, also performed in the wee hours of the night crowning the second Kampala Bantu night.
