Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president Kiiza Besigye on Monday morning walked from his Kasangati home in Wakiso district to court.

The court is about 2 kilometers from Besigye’s home. Some Police officers caught up with Besigye along the way and escorted him to court.

Besigye appeared before Kasangati grade 1 magistrate, James Ireemy, for mention of cases that include inciting violence and unlawful assembly which prosecution alleges that were committed in April this year during the walk-to-work demonstrations.

The magistrate adjourned the case to July 13, after prosecution told court that investigation into the case were incomplete.

Police said they had no problem with Besigye’s walk to court provided it did not cause any chaos.
