TEACHERS at various government-aided schools in Masaka district yesterday shunned the ongoing teachers’ strike, attended to their classes normally and vowed to continue teaching.

Abubakar Muyingo, an Islamic and Economics teacher at Masaka SS, said they were not ready to join the sit down strike because they were getting money from PTA besides their salaries.

JB Ddungu from St. Henry’s college Kitovu also confirmed that they were receiving students and normal classes had started.

“I don’t believe any of our teachers will participate in that strike. We are ready to teach as usual,” Ddungu said.
