A group of vocal National Resistance Movement (NRM) MPs yesterday vowed not to tone down their criticisms of the government.

Led by Lwemiyaga MP Theodre Ssekikubo the four MPs yesterday said they were ready for expulsion from the party if it was the price for championing the people’s cause.

They said there was nothing to apologise for and vowed to continue with what they called objective criticism.
“Prices of commodities have gone up and if you talk about it, the President says you are sabotaging government programmes.

“Is it a government progamme to keep Ugandans poor?” asked Kampala Central MP Muhammed Nsereko.

Other NRM MPs who addressed the press conference were Wilfred Niwagaba and Samson Kyamadidi.
Ssekikubo said they were not fighting the President but thieves who were plundering the country.

President Museveni, while campaigning for the NRM flag-bearer in the Entebbe municipality by-election, Patience Mubangizi, on Tuesday accused some NRM MPs of conspiring with the opposition to frustrate government programmes.
