ISAAC Lugudde offered the UCU Canons some harsh scoring lessons Sunday at YMCA. But, really, what UCU need is Lugudde’s extreme self-belief, even his bravado.
The Canons led by 16 points in the second quarter, 12 at the start of the fourth period and nine with five minutes to play but still lost 77-71 to FUBA men’s champions Power. Steadily ahead in the first three quarters, the Canons conspired to lose the fourth 34-15.
In fact, Power got their first lead with 1:37 to play, when Lugudde, scorer of a game-high 23 points, made it 70-69. Sudi Ulanga (12pts) levelled matters with one from the line but Power were on a roll. Lugudde drained a three that put Power in front for good condemning the Canons to some soul-searching.
