NRM's Karangwa dies after Kayunga car crash

Karangwa's passing was formally announced by Minister Milly Babalanda of the Ministry for the Presidency.

In January, President Yoweri Museveni appointed Karangwa as his Senior Advisor for Special Duties.

KAYUNGA - Seasoned politician Moses Karangwa Kalisa is dead after sustaining injuries in a Kayunga motor vehicle crash on Sunday, May 17.

His passing was formally announced by Minister Milly Babalanda of the Ministry for the Presidency.

The death notice was published on various media sites, including X formally Twitter.

Babalanda's full statement reads:

It is with deep sorrow that I announce the passing of the Senior Presidential Advisor and Chairperson of NRM Kayunga District, Moses Karangwa Kalisa, following a tragic accident. 

He was a valued member of our mighty party, the National Resistance Movement (NRM), and he will be remembered for his loyalty to the party.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.

In January, President Yoweri Museveni appointed Karangwa as his Senior Advisor for Special Duties.

His appointment followed his loss of the NRM's Buganda region chair to Godfrey Kiwanda in the party elections. 

Karangwa has been serving as the Kayunga District Chairperson for the National Resistance Movement.

He previously held the same office for Jinja municipality.
