Followers of the Faith of Unity that was founded by the late Owobusobozi Bisaka, have finally got a successor who will steer the faith forward.

It is nearly three months since the death of Owobusobozi Bisaka and both the believers and other people have been speculating on what next and who would succeed the self-styled god.

Owobusobozi Bisaka died on January 13, 2021, at Agakhan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya but his death was announced on January 23, 2021.

Impeccable sources from Kapyemi village, Muhorro town council, Kagadi district where the headquarters of the movement are located, revealed that before Bisaka died, he had selected his son Omukwenda Akugizibwe Bisaka to succeed him.

But this had been kept a secret until recently when he was installed as the heir to his late father.

Omukwenda Akugizibwe was born in 1977. He is late Bisaka's last born and also was the treasurer during his father's leadership.

Akugizibwe who was crowned the leader of the Faith of Unity is also the family head and administrator of the deceased's estate.

The enthronement took place on March 27, 2021, at the headquarters of the Faith of Unity in Kapyemi which serves as the family home.

Omukwenda Akugizibwe was unveiled to the followers at Kisozi in Mpigi district on Saturday, April 10.

He will also perform the duties of linking the Faith of Unity and government.

In his maiden speech, he said that he was working closely with his father and that his father used to guide him in all he did.

“I used to be with my father in most cases and he often told me to do work perfectly not knowing that he was orienting me for this big seat,” said Akugizibwe.
