After reading out the charges, magistrate Valerian Tuhimbise ruled that Tumukunde would be allowed to access his medical doctors while on remand.
His home in Rukungiri has been reportedly sealed off since Sunday as security planned to do a search on the home.
Tumukunde further disclosed how Uganda’s intelligence system was getting weakened and causing troubles with the neighbours.
"The arrest of Gen Tumukunde should also act as a deterrent to others who would like to promote views that seek to naturalize violence in Uganda."
The General has reportedly been taken to Kibuli, Kampala to record a statement.
Our reporter at the scene says there is heavy deployment at his home, but has not confirmed whether the General is at his home.
He had kept a low profile since his sacking, only to turn up recently and announce that he was seeking the mayoral seat in Kampala.
