University Research Co., LLC (URC), a US-based public health organization working in Uganda since 2005, is implementing the USAID's Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in East-Central Uganda project (USAID's RHITES-EC), a five-year USAID funded Activity that supports the 11 districts of Bugiri, Busia, Buyende, Iganga, Jinja, Kaliro, Kamuli, Luuka, Mayuge, Namayingo, Namutumba to implement interventions for integrated health services (Malaria, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and survival; Family Planning; Nutrition; HIV prevention, care and treatment; Tuberculosis; and Laboratory services) and health systems strengthening.
USAID's RHITES-EC program in the effort to address skills building and widespread youth unemployment is offering internship opportunities for fresh Universitylevel graduates who originate from the project supported districts (Jinja, Iganga, Mayuge, Kamuli, Buyende, Kaliro, Bugiri, Busia, Namayingo, Namutumba and Luuka), and are interested in pursuing career in the sector of health/nutrition/counseling; monitoring and evaluation; advertising; marketing; sales; civil engineering; Finance and accounting; ICT; or business-related fields. USAID's RHITES-EC will help link and attach up to seventy five (75) fresh graduates to district health facilities, CBOs and private companies/businesses to attain hands-on work experience for a period not exceeding 6 months. Through these attachments, the internship program will support district and facility counterparts in data analysis, visualization and utilization.
