The Chinese Ambassador to Uganda H.E Zheng Zhuqiang on Saturday handed over 15 computers to St. Theresa Girls Vocational School in Ibanda with the aim of facilitating the implementation of Information Communication Technology (ICT) programme in schools.
Zhuqiang who was accompanied by the area Member of Parliament Eng. John Byabagambi who is also the Minister for Karamoja said the Chinese embassy is looking forward to aiding more schools in Uganda with computers as part facilitating computer advancement technology.

"This move is a way of giving back to the Ugandan people and also strengthening the relationship between the Chinese government and the Ugandan government" said Zhuqiang.
The computers are valued at sh90m.
Byabagambi said he lobbied his Chinese friends after learning that there was a dire need for computers at the school.
"Education is a fundamental key to development and once we have educated people, our goal of as government becomes simple," Byabagambi said.
St Theresa is a Catholic-founded school under the supervision of Mbarara Archdiocese.
Sister Gertrude Nuwarimpa the school headteacher challenged students to effectively use the computers for educative purposes.
