MULAGO youth team was crowned champions of the Muslim Youth HIV/AIDS/STI sensitisation netball gala held at Kamwokya on Saturday.
Mulago beat Ntinda 9-8 in the final of the one-day event despite having lost 4-2 to the same opponents in the preliminaries. The event attracted 50 boys and girls in various age brackets from mosques in Nakawa division.
The gala, organised by Action for Muslim Youth, followed a one-week capacity building workshop by the Uganda Muslim Leaders Youth Forum in April.
The major aim of the tournament was to teach youth on how to live a productive lifestyle through education, sports and community development activities in their localities.
A football gala will be held on May 15 at Kamwokya, where winners will walk off with trophies and other accessories.
