Lira bitter over garbage
LIRA â€” Residents in the municipality are complaining over uncollected heaps of garbage in the town. They said they were living in an unhealthy environment that was prone to outbreak of contagious diseases like cholera and dysentery. They cited the dumping ground in front of the market as the most affected area.
Priest gets back $5,000
ARUA â€” A lucky Rev. Fr. S. V. Nabe of Koboko Catholic Mission recovered US$5,000 which he lost on a Kampala-Arua bound Gateway bus on Friday. When the panicky Nabe told travellers his money was missing, they asked the conductor to drive to Arua Central Police Station for a search. The thief sneaked out of the bus when it stopped, abandoning his jacket in which the money was stashed.
UPDF arrest Karimojong
PADER â€” UPDF soldiers in Adilang sub-county last week arrested a jilted Karimojong warrior in connection with the murder of a man over a woman. A local councillor from Adilang said Lokwiia, a Jie, reportedly shot dead Ongia Atalo of Kulaka village, claiming he bore a child with his former wife. Ongia was shot dead at 9:00pm as he returned home. Ends
